Philip K. Dick on the film “Blade Runner.”

A lot of critics have been annoyed with “Blade Runner” for being “different” or “not as good as” the novel on which it was based, Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? I have no opinion; I’ve never read the novel. But I do think Blade Runner is one of the best films ever made, and deeply influential upon all science fiction that came after it.

Turns out, Philip K. Dick thought the same thing – and he didn’t even have to see the entire film. A few months before he died, he caught a snippet of “Blade Runner” on a television program. And this is what he thought:
